The first part of today's workout was doing a maximum weight snatch lift. Sadly, I was not able to establish a new one rep max for this lift, and I am still stuck at 125 pounds. That said, I feel slightly better because one of the super in shape dudes at the gym got a new personal record at the gym today. It was one pound heavier than his previous max set last May. So I guess I can't expect to improve by leaps and bounds every time up. I do think I'll get better though. The coaches over there are great, and sometimes they post coaching videos to help people along. Check out the video below to see a bunch of the folks at my gym (and please ignore the beginning, it contains such silliness.)
What can I say, I have a thing for 90's songs by cute girls in hipster glasses.
But it's the second part of this workout that got really tough. We were required to do 4 rounds for time of a 20 calorie row and 10 burpees. This means you row for about 350 meters or so, then do ten of these devil spawn:
My apologies, Mom, if you are not pleased to see it is a video of a nubile woman in a sports bra jumping around. It was literally the first video that showed up when I typed burpees into youtube. Blame the internet, not me.
In any case, it was terrible, and I was the last person in the class to finish. It took me 10:25. But hey, I finished, and that is an accomplishment for me.
